Placer County Deputies Injured in Collision While Responding to Attempted Rape at Dry Creek Park

Suspect Apprehended Amid Ongoing Investigation; Authorities Seek Additional Information

On Sunday evening, two Placer County Sheriff's deputies were involved in a collision while en route to an attempted rape incident at Dry Creek Park in Roseville.

 

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of an attempted sexual assault at Dry Creek Park around 5:30 p.m.

 

While heading to the scene with lights and sirens activated, two deputies' patrol vehicle collided with another car at the intersection of Baseline Road and Walerga Road.

 

One deputy and the civilian driver sustained minor injuries and received medical attention; the second deputy was unharmed.

 

The Roseville Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

 

Despite the accident, deputies successfully located and arrested the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Sergiy Fedchyk of Sacramento.

 

Authorities are now seeking additional information and potential victims related to this case.

 

They urge anyone who witnessed the incident, encountered the suspect in the area, or believes they may be a victim to contact the Investigations Tip Line at 530-889-7830.

 

Additionally, individuals with video footage from the vicinity between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the day of the incident are encouraged to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
